Market Hill and North Street

Above is the proposal from the WSP Consultation for Market Hill. It meets all the requirements for Safe Walking Infrastructure but has no cycling paths or cycle storage at all.

I would suggest a SW-NE cycle path along the north side of Market Hill, this would need to be contraflow so as to meet the requirements of cyclists traversing the Market Hill.

I would also suggest cycle racks (sheffield stand or similar) and possibly a secure parking block for Market Hill residents and business workers to store their bikes under cover and secure.

For cycling access onto Market Hill, I would also suggest the removal of the cyclists dismount signs on Gaol Lane to enable this very light traffic route to be usable by all cyclists (note disabled cyclists cannot dismount and push their bikes)
